تصنيف افضل الجامعات 2020
هل التصنيف الجامعي مهم للطلاب المستجدين الذين يتنافسون للدراسة في الخارج؟ هل لها أهمية على الإطلاق؟
Yes, it does. Having originated sometime in 2003, there are around 17 different rank ings available worldwide that mark the universities as the best depending upon certain criteria for evaluation. Stu-dents trying to figure out where they should study, can find it challenging to find the best out of these lists. While most university rankings are for commercial purposes, IEC Abroad holds the best to the best depending upon the number of students enrolled, student-teacher ratio, international out-look for student and staff and many others.
Typically, these rankings will provide students with a basic idea of the university’s popularity and re-pute. Although they may not necessarily drivers of decision-making but are enough to proffer direc-tion.
Yet, university rankings and university prestige are two different things. Something as unquantifiable as prestige is not included as part of the rankings’ evaluation criteria.
In other words, quantifiable publications, and admissions data are used to structure, research, maintain and improve upon an educational institutions’ rankings to derive quality.
Rankings are also a basis of comparison but are not fully indicative of the quality and relevance of the tertiary educational institutions. Eventually, the numbers pre-define the university as a good insti-tution.
There are major differences in the ranking methodologies used. These differences can be seen in the definitions of what constitutes quality, in the criteria and indicators used to measure quality, in the measurement processes as well as in the presentation format. These differences result in very different ranking approaches. Consequently, the ranking results also differ considerably from one ranking approach to another.
Some ranking institutions use objective data that can be measured quantitatively, and others rely on subjective evaluations. Regardless of the missions and goals of the universities, quality is defined based on subjective criteria.
